The Amazon Jungle in Peru is considered the most bio-diverse place on earth. Covers nearly two-thirds of the country at approximately 302,000 mi2 (783,000 km2), covering the entire eastern side of the country. The Amazon Jungle in Peru is home to some 595 different species of birds, 1,200 types of butterflies, 2,000 species of fish, 300 reptiles, and more than 50,000 plants. Within this large expanse of dense jungle there are two main areas developed for tourism.
